Dangerous Liaisons (Les Correspondances dangereuses) is one of Max Ernst's early postwar Surrealist prints, created in New York & published as part of Brunidor Portfolio No. 1.
The composition depicts two intertwined, almost dreamlike figures surrounded by a dense network of lines. A dark, almost creature-like form appears behind them, creating an ambiguous scene somewhere between an embrace, a confrontation & a fantastical apparition.
